After a brief battle with cancer, Bill Court of Courtland passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday February 13, 2020. Best friend and devoted husband of 53 years to his wife Sally. A family man, Bill was a caring father to his children Bruce (Tracey) Court and Tamara Court (Ludwig Batista). Wonderful and active Grandfather to Lauren, Sydney, Regan and Will Court; Leah and Carter Dawes and Will Hopper. Loving Brother to Marney (Cliff) Fairman. Uncle to several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents William and Violet (nee Loder) and sister Donna Hubman. Bill was a research scientist at Delhi Tobacco Research Station and enjoyed a partnership with his wife Sally as owners of Court’s Fireplace and Stove Shop for 23 years. Bill and Sally started farming in 1978 and spent many years farming in Courtland and enjoyed their time on the land. At Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. The family’s preference would be to have no flowers sent, instead consideration may be given to making a donation in “Bill’s” memory to either Crohn’s and Colitis Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.
