Mary Ellen Witteman was born March 25, 1953 to William and Ellen (Kinsley) Witteman. She attended school in Mohall ND graduating in 1971 from Mohall High School.  She met Michael Duppong at NDSU in Fargo.  On April 20, 1974 Mary Ellen married Michael Duppong of Glen Ullin at the Methodist church in Mohall.  To this union, they were blessed with four sons, Jeffrey, Curtis, Mark and Eric.  They farmed north of Glen Ullin from 1974 until 2018.  She was very active in the farming operation.  You could find Mary driving truck, combining, driving tractor or in the barn milking cows.  She enjoyed hiking and jogging out into the prairie.  Mary enjoyed crocheting, cooking, and baking and always made sure there was a hot meal after a long day’s work.  Attending basketball games and any sporting events of her children and grandchildren was always a joy for Mary also.  She was an avid NDSU BISON fan and she followed the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles.  Mary was always available whenever anyone needed to talk.  She was an excellent listener and had a keen sense of humor and wit.  Her biggest enjoyment was seeing her grandchildren and watching them grow.  Mary enjoyed living in Mesa AZ as the weather there was much more enjoyable and she had suffered from Multiple Sclerosis since being diagnosed in 1999. Mary is survived by her mother, Ellen Witteman of Mohall ND; brothers, Mike (Sue), Dan (Diane), Steve Witteman all of Mohall; husband of 45 years, Michael; four sons, Jeffrey (Shari) of Bismarck, Curtis (Janell) of Dickinson, Mark (Carrie) and Eric (Kelsy) of Glen Ullin; 12 grandchildren, Zachery, Riley, Ryan, Rachel, Sean, Ethan, Alyssa, Elizabeth, Cassidy, Braxton, Karter and Emmitt; many nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law, Patrick (Cindy) Duppong and Robert (Marlene) Duppong; sister-in-law, Maxine (Dave) Willman.
