Joseph James Candito Sun City, Arizona Obituary

Joseph James Candito

Seattle / Phoenix June 3rd, 1931-February 7th, 2020. Passed away after a brief illness. With his wife and children by his side. Survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Carolyn. His children Son, Joseph Candito, Daughters, Gena Deaton (Dan), Lisa Hardy (Robert), Barbara Chamberlin (Paul). 10 Grand Children and 7 Great Grand Children. An amazing man who loved his family deeply. He freely shared his vast wisdom with all of us. We will miss him immensely. My friend Joe Candito I have known Joe Candito for over 40 years and his passing leaves and sadness in my heart for the loss of this dear honest and true friend. Both Joe and I were Rainier Valley boys although about tens years of age separated us. We took different paths in life’s work and had different views on many things however agreed on so many more that really mattered something that is lost in today’s society. Joe was a US Army veteran who served in the war zone during the Korean War and I always respected him for that as he was red white and blue when it came to supporting America and our people who served. Thankfully in the end the Veterans Hospital gave him comfort in his final days which was a blessing for Joe and his family. Joe was American Labor both Boiler Maker and Steel Workers and a honest hard worker. He was not afraid to walk a steel beam 100 feet above a work site to fit a pipe or do what ever had to be done on the job. He was always a leader on the job sites no matter where. Joe was labor and I was management and we had many long discussions over things industrial and you know we had very few disagreements because he knew how the job needed to be done right and safely. I always was looking after the same quality of workmanship and timely completions. This is the culture of how America was built by our greatest generations people working together and loving together. Joe never had anything handed to him as he had to work for it and he did that all his life. After he left the heavy construction industry he went to work for Boeing and a mechanic working facilities maintenance and was an outstanding employee finally retiring from the Boeing Co. His great sense of humor and hardy laugh was tremendous he always had a good joke to tell and a smile for his friends. Joe was a President of Auburn Sons of Italy from 1985 to 1988 for three years and was very popular with the members. This was about the time that the Auburn Lodge started to grow from the smallest to eventually the second largest in the Grand Lodge of the Northwest. Joe got along with everyone and that was the secret to his success. Lastly when he met the love of his life Carolyn and they were married his life took on an inner glow of affection that he had not had. The two of them were joined together by the Grace of God as a happy married couple. From my observation that is the crown of jewel of Joe and Carolyn’s life together. My sincerest condolences to Carolyn and the entire family on your loss he will be missed. Now as his friend I am saying goodbye to my dear friend Joe may he rest in peace with God.
