Loray Nadine Clark, 86, of Island City, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020, at her residence. Loray will be buried with her mother at Grandview Cemetery and has requested that no service be held. Loray was born on October 15, 1933 to Max and Helen (Ambrose) Allen at home is Shoshone, Idaho. Loray attended most of her elementary school in Weiser, Idaho. She then moved with her family to Wallowa, Oregon in April, 1946. She graduated from high school there in 1951 and was a member of the National Honor Society. Loray was married to Eugene Childers in 1954 and their daughter Coby was born in 1955. This marriage ended in divorce and Loray moved to La Grande to be close to her mother and 2 sisters. Loray was employed at the EOC Business Office for 7 years and then at Reynolds Insurance Agency. In February, 1975, she began working at the State Employment Office in La Grande and retired in March, 1995. In September, 1982, she married Donald L. Clark and when they both retired, moved to Island City and have lived there since. Loray is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter, Coby Childers Hallgarth of La Grande; brother, Jim Allen of Klamath Falls, OR; sister, Faith Folsom of Cove, OR and sister, Teresa Sable of Valley Springs, CA; 1 granddaughter and 3 great grandsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Max and Helen and 2 nephews.
