Jill Sahlman

We sadly announce the accidental death of Jill Sahlman,70, of Montpelier on April 18, 2017. Jill was very proud of growing-up in Alexandria, VA but chose to spend most of her life in Vermont raising her two sons here. Jill worked for the last several years as a caregiver for the elderly and disabled. She was skilled, kind, patient and caring with them. Her clients loved her. With her time off Jill enjoyed taking care of her extensive lawns and her home. They were always beautifully maintained. Jill also loved cars and dogs and the wildlife that visited her backyard as long as it stayed out of her flowers. Jill was predeceased by one son, Ashley Sahlman, in 2010. She is survived by a son Josh and his wife Danielle of Port Orange, FL and one sister, Donna McKelligett of Fripp Island, SC. She also leaves two very close friends, Nancy Vantassel of Purcellville, VA and Mary (Garamella) Paulman of Jeffersonville, VT. Jill was planning her future with her long-time love and friend, John Jablonski of Berlin, MD. A service in Jill's honor will be held at the Christ Episcopal Church on Monday, May 1st. at 10:30 am. with Rev. Paul Habersang officiating. Donations may be made in Jill's memory to the Montpelier Little League by contacting jtinge@yahoo.com or to the Central Vermont Humane Society.
