Julius “Jude” Vance 73, of Kermit, WV; went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 6, 2020. Julius fought a long and difficult battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at home with his family. Julius was born on June 2, 1946 in Mingo Co., WV. He was a son of the late Joe and Emma Meade Vance. He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta and four children, Ladonna Smith, Larry (Violet) Vance, Melissa (Derrick) Ledson, and the late Tina (Larry) Stacy. He was the loving grandfather of five grandchildren, Miranda (Chad) Chaffin, Dakota and Alex Vance and Greyson and Holland Ledson. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren, Tyler and Jameson Chaffin. Julius was the brother to the late Leonard (Linda) Vance, and the late Jim (Bessie) Sturgell, Joe (Thelma) Vance, Earl (Paula) Vance, and Tony Vance (Charlene Jude). Julius was also the loving brother of triplets to Alice (Roy) Messer and Minnie Fitzpatrick. He was also a brother to (sisters) the late Eileen (Shady) White, Alberta (Mark) Hannah, and Roberta (Richard) Maynard. He was also the loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Julius was a devoted husband to Loretta for 52 years. He was a member of the Neely Branch United Baptist Church and dedicated and faithful Christian who always loved serving the Lord. Julius was loved and will be missed by all who knew him. The family would like to thank everyone for your condolences, calls, prayers, food, and a special thank you to Earl for all his help and love for Jude. Visitation will be after 6pm Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Neely Branch United Baptist Church with church starting at 7pm. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at 1:00pm at the Neely Branch United Baptist Church with Russell Ball officiating. Burial will follow in the May Cemetery of Marrowbone, WV. Mullins Family Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be serving the family of Julius “Jude” Vance.
