Duane Ray "Bud" Dixon

Duane Ray “Bud” Dixon, 85, of Bloomington, Indiana passed away at his residence on Tuesday, February 4, 2020. He was born in Monroe County, Indiana on January 3, 1935 to Thomas R. and Pearl (Waddel) Dixon. Bud graduated from Bloomington High School in 1953, and then served in the Army National Guard. He was a truck driver for RCA for 38 years before delivering prescriptions for Kroger. Bud was a previous member of the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department and a current member of the American Legion Burton Woolery Post 18 in Bloomington. His passion was racing, especially sprint cars. Bud also enjoyed going to yard sales, where he loved to buy old radios to add to his collection. He loved to tinker with things and make floats for parades. Bud was a true jack of all trades. He loved his dogs, friends, and family. Bud was known for always carrying half dollars in his pocket and would give them out. Bud is survived by his wife of 25 years, Judy (Raney) Dixon, son, Marty Dixon (Jolene) and their sons, Tyler and Jake Dixon, daughter, Regena Dixon, and her son, Jesse Allgood and daughter, Cheyenne Brown, step-son, Brian Daniel and his daughters, Mycah and Hadarah Daniel, step-daughter, Missy Newton (Tony) and their son, Ross Newton, step-daughter, Angela Jordan and her daughter, Dusty Wehr (Jeremiah) and her children, Hailey Sebesky and Gibson Wehr, son, Thomas Rhoades, daughter, Ricki Jordan, and son, Joey Jordan (Kara) and their daughter, Paisleigh and Layla Jordan, and sister, Norma Rogers (Wilbur Mackey). Bud was preceded in death by his daughter, Sebrina Dixon, parents, and brother, James Dixon. Visitation will be from 2:30 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, February 14, 2020 and from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM on Saturday at The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third Street Bloomington, Indiana. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday at The Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Clear Creek Cemetery in Bloomington. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
