Robert Anthony Libel, 46, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at his home in Nortonville, KS.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 AM, Saturday, February 15, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Nortonville, with Fr. Lazar Carasala, Celebrant. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery, Nortonville. A Parish and Knights of Columbus Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm, Friday, Feb. 14, at the church with visitation to follow until 8:00 pm. Robert was born on September 19, 1973 in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Michael Henry, Sr. and Linda Ann (Gutierrez) Libel. Robert attended schools at Jefferson County North and graduated from Oskaloosa High School in 1992. Robert worked various jobs throughout his life; rock crusher operator and rock crew supervisor for Hamm’s Quarry, bridge construction carpenter in Kansas City, plumber’s assistant, drove trucks for Allan Weishaar Trucking, and owned his own auto repair shop in McLouth for a brief time. Robert enjoyed playing pool, listening to music, working on cars, and along with friends participated in Dirt Track Racing. Robert was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Nortonville Knights of Columbus Council 2093.
Robert is survived by his mother, Linda, of Nortonville; his siblings, Michael (Sheila) Libel, II of Winchester, Andrew Libel, Winchester, Christina Libel, Nortonville, Edward (Tracey) Libel, Winchester, and Lt. Colonel Bryan (Heidi) Libel, West Linn, OR; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Michael, on June 7, 2005.
