Florence McGill, 100, of Avoca passed away Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Boscobel Care and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. Florence was born August 23, 1915 the daughter of George and Lucinda (Nachreiner) Winkler of Plain. She was united in marriage to Malachi "Mac" McGill on August 18, 1936 at St. Luke"s Catholic Church in Plain. Mac preceded her in death on October 18, 1982. They farmed for many years in North Lancaster Township in Grant County until retiring in 1970, when they moved to Avoca. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Avoca. Florence completed the Nursing Assistant Program, from Southwest Tech, Fennimore, taught at St. Joseph"s Hospital, Dodgeville in 1971. She worked at the Boscobel Nursing Home. Florence is survived by a cousin William (Mary) Weitzel of Baraboo, nephew Ron (Dianne) Klasse of Fort Dodge, IA, niece Becky Lee of Hampton, IA, dear friends Bill and Mary Stanek of Muscoda, other relatives and friends. Florence was preceded in death by her parents George and Lucinda Winkler, husband Mac, and sister Clotilda. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph"s Catholic Church in Avoca with burial to follow at St Joseph"s Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Godager Pratt Funeral Home in Muscoda from 9:30 AM until the departure to the church at 10:30 AM.
