Carmela Scrocca L’Hommedieu, 64, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Summit, NJ where she spent her childhood and graduated from Summit High School in 1973.
She moved to High Bridge, NJ in 1986 and worked at Bell Laboratories, Murray Hill, NJ for 30 years.
Carmela retired early in 2001 and enjoyed traveling with family and friends.
Carmela was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, crafting, gardening, stained glass art, and cherished spending quality time with her family and friends. She will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her father Ralph Scrocca, beloved nephew Michael Scrocca, and sister-in-law Debbie Scrocca.
Surviving are her beloved mother, Velia Scrocca of Summit, NJ; two dear brothers, Anthony and his wife Mary Scrocca of Branchburg, NJ and Vincent Scrocca of Bound Brook, NJ; her cherished niece, Lauren Scrocca of Bound Brook, NJ; two cherished nephews, Matthew Scrocca of Littleton, CO, and Brian Scrocca of Branchburg, NJ; and his adored children, Chloe, Michael, and Jack Scrocca.
Viewing will be held Wednesday February 5, 2020 from 4-8pm and Thursday, February 6, 2020 from 10-11am with an 11am prayer service at the Branchburg Funeral Home 910 US Highway 202 South, Branchburg, NJ 08876.
Committal is private.
