Avis I. (Cole) Stanley Greenville, Rhode Island Obituary

Avis I. (Cole) Stanley

Avis I. (Cole) Stanley, 84, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020, with loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Florent (Florie) Stanley. Born in Hopkins Mills, Foster, RI, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Idella (Rapp) Cole. She was the beloved mother of Lorie (Stanley) Maguire-Henderson and her husband, Rex of Foster; Daniel J. Stanley and his wife Raelene of Providence. She was the devoted grandmother of Cole R. Maguire. She was the sister of Creighton R. Cole, and the late Charles Cole, Myrna Bellows (Cole) and Robert Cole. Avis loved her entire family fiercely and always cherished their times spent together. She adored her grandson, Cole. She was always there to help her family and friends when they needed someone. She was an avid bird lover…especially her hummingbirds. Not too surprising, as Avis is Latin for bird…fly, Avis, fly! Visitation will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 10AM to 2PM in the TUCKER-QUINN Funeral Chapel, 643 Putnam Ave., (Rt.44) Greenville. Burial will be private.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Avis’ passing. I loved all the family reunions at her house. She was always the perfect hostess, graciously opening her house for all occasions. I will always think of her fondly with so many wonderful memories.

I will miss you Avis- deeply cherished getting my "Candy-card" birthday greeting one year, many great meals & card games at your table which my daughter, Jenell remembered when she heard of your passing. Truly a great lady I had the pleasure to meet.
