Willa (Smith) Metzger

Willa M. (Smith) Metzger, 84, of Mechanicsburg went to be with the Lord on January 30, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born February 7, 1935 in Dubois, PA she is the daughter of the late Mary A. (Kilmurray) Thompson. She worked for the PA D.O.T. for 25 years until her retirement. She had an unwavering relationship with the Lord and was a member of the Camp Hill Church of God. She enjoyed the outdoors fishing, hunting and camping. Most importantly she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Willa is survived by four daughters, Mary Griffin (Steve) of Winston Salem, NC, Cathy Baker (Donald) of Carlisle, PA Loretta Hemminger (Lee) of Shiremanstown, PA, Betty Breach (Stan) of Camp Hill, PA; step-daughter Jodi Fantine (Brad) of Lebanon, PA; two sisters Gerri Bennett, of Camp Hill, and Mary Patrick of Mechanicsburg, PA. Willa is also survived by seven grandchildren (Jason, Donald, Marshall, Bret, Dustin, Lindsi and Olivia), and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to her mother, Willa is preceded in death by her first husband James L. Smith, second husband Lowell Metzger, sisters Marilyn Rupp, Shirley Goodyear, and her stepson Scott Metzger. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at the Camp Hill Church of God, 123 N. 21st Street, Camp Hill, with Rev. Jason Cooksey officiating. A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2020 in Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market Street, Camp Hill from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. and again Wednesday, at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Memorial service. Burial will follow at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill, PA. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Willa’s honor to Homeland Hospice, or Camp Hill Church of God.
