Gloria Carlson, 93, of Dixon, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2020, at Dixon Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Dixon, IL. Gloria was born, August 5, 1926, in Morris, IL, the daughter of Theodore and Loreto (Shelton) Swanson. She married Leonard Carlson on March 9, 1946 in Seneca, IL. He preceded her in death on February 17, 1998. She is survived by her children, Jackie Larson, Bonnie (Gordon) Kingery, Brad Carlson, Brenda (Kevin) Spratt; all of Dixon; siblings, Cris (Holly) Swanson of PA, Sandra Timmons of Seneca, Holly Wreath of Coal City; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, James Larson, brother, Ted Swanson, and brother-in-law, Gene Timmons. Leonard and Gloria Carlson's memorial visitation will be from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday, February 1, 2020, at the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ, Dixon, IL with a potluck luncheon immediately following the visitation at the church. Cremations rites have been accorded. Memorials may be directed to Serenity Hospice & Home in Oregon. Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.
