Carl Sapp Obituary

Carl Bernard Sapp, 81, of Leesburg, Florida passed away peacefully at home on January 28, 2020. Mr. Sapp was born October 14, 1938 in West Green, Georgia to Oliver Vernon and Florence Harkleroad Sapp. He graduated from Coffee County High School, Class of 1956 and worked for 54 years as a barber, retiring in 2018 as the owner of West Main Barber in Leesburg. He and his wife Kathy attended Calvary Baptist Church in Fruitland Park and prior were longtime members of First Baptist Church where he served faithfully as Deacon and were charter members of Southpoint and Emmanuel Baptist Churches. Together, they loved spending their summers at their home in North Carolina and later, the family farm in Georgia. Carl especially loved to fish and enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Survivors include: wife of 53 years Mary Kathryn “Kathy’ Sapp; daughter Ryn Sapp; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 3 brothers. Funeral Services will be held at Calvary Baptist Church in Fruitland Park, Florida on Saturday February 1, 2020 beginning at 11 AM. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior from 10-11 AM and a Committal Service will follow the funeral at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made in Carl’s memory to Cornerstone Hospice.
