Michael A. Hutchings, owner of “Michael’s Wheels”, age 62, of Danville transitioned from this life on Friday, February 13, 2015 at UVA Medical Center, Charlottesville, Va. He accepted Christ at an early age at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. He was educated in Pittsylvania County and a 1971 Dan River High School graduate. A hard worker and perfectionist, his employment history includes Roman Eagle, Sears and Corning Inc. He started his own business in his garage and it evolved into the Watson Street location. Survivors include his parents, George (GW) and Thelma P. Hutchings; one son, Tyon Guy; three granddaughters, Kaymeon, Ja’ Tyia and Ja’Tasia Guy; siblings, Mattie H. Carter, A. Keith Hutchings and Janice H. (Jerry) Alexander, of Decatur, GA. He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles “Bug” Hutchings. The family will receive friends at his parents’ home, 180 Forestdale Dr., Danville. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 20, 2015 at 12 noon, with visitation at 11 a.m., at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 2232 North Main St, Danville, Pastor Jeffrey M. Millner, Eulogist and Pastor Reginald Carter officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Burial Park.
