Thelma Louise (Calvert) Burchett, 67, left this earth to join the other Saints on January 24, 2020 at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa after experiencing a major stroke on Thursday, January 23 at a store in Broken Arrow. Louise was born March 7, 1952 in Muskogee, OK to Thelma and Lowell Calvert. Louise grew up in Clarksville, OK. She attended and graduated from Porter High School in 1970. On April 19, 1970, Louise married Eugene Steven Burchett and proceeded to have three children, two boys and a girl, Steve, Chad, and Crystal. For most of her adult life Coweta was her hometown, moving several times but always residing within the city limits of Coweta. Of all the jobs Louise has worked during her lifetime, the work of the LORD was the one she loved the most. She always took the time to listen to anyone’s cares and troubles of this world, and always took the time at the end of the conversation to talk to our Lord about what she needed Him to do for you in Prayer. In true Irish form, Louise conversed with the Lord on a daily basis, telling Him about all that was going on in her life seeking His guidance and healing power for any and all that she encountered. Another job she did out of her home that brought her great joy was the responsibility of taking care of children of many hard-working families in the area. She loved to travel and enjoyed good food and good conversation with many friends and family including Carolyn, Connie, Bobbie, and Vicki. Louise is preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Thelma Calvert of Clarksville and her sister Carolyn Jean (Tackett) Calvert of Porter. She is survived by her husband, Eugene Burchett; three children and their families, Steve and Mary Burchett of Haskell and their two boys, Dillon and Hunter, Chad and Alisha Burchett of Broken Arrow, and Crystal Burchett with Derrick Morris of Tulsa; nieces and nephews, Shawn and Donna Harley of Coweta, Dawn and Nate Austin of Coweta, Danny Tackett of Porter, and Paul and his wife, Daven, and their daughters Erin and Ali of Tulsa; along with a host of lifelong friends and family in and around the Coweta area. It goes without saying, though Louise was ready to leave this place because, this world is not her home, many were not ready for our Lord to call her home. Our loss is her gain. Services celebrating Louise’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at the Coweta Assembly of God, 29707 E. Highway 51, Coweta, OK 74429.
