Pete Forster

Pete Forster, long time resident of Blair, took his journey from this world to be with his savior at Magnolia Creek Skilled Nursing on January 24, 2020, just 2 weeks short of his 73rd birthday after a short bout with illness. <br /><br />Pete was born on February 7, 1947 in Alexandria, Minnesota as the 9th of 11 children to his parents Anton and Florence Forster. He graduated high school in Alexandria and shortly after enlisted in the United States Air Force on February 6, 1968. During his first assignment in Abilene, Texas at Dyess Air Force Base, he met Tabitha Lynn Lake, where they married on July 18, 1970. Pete and Lynn were later assigned to California, Germany, and Kansas before being transferred to Altus AFB in the early 80's, where he worked as an aircraft structural technician. They decided early on that they would make their forever home in Blair where he retired from the air force in 1988 with 21 years of service. Shortly after he took a job with the City of Altus in the Sanitation Department where he stayed until his retirement in 2010.<br /><br />After retirement, he loved to tinker in his shop with his tools, work with his boys, and spend time with his grandkids and great grandkids. Pete never met a stranger and above all, he loved his wife of almost 50 years along with his family.<br /><br />Pete was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Florence Forster, his father and mother in law Lonnie and Jimmie Lake, as well as 4 brothers and 1 sister.<br /><br />He is survived by his wife Lynn of the home, 2 brothers Rudy Forster and wife Dot and Glen Forster and wife Lois, 3 sisters Irene Wheeler and husband Dale, Sister Patricia Forster, and Sylvia Klimek and husband Chuck. His legacy continues with his 3 boys Pete Jr, Scott and wife Tiffany, and Steve and wife Brittany, 9 grandchildren Kristen, McKynzi, Gabe, Kade, Brittany, Tyler, Conner, Hunter, and Brooklyn, 4 great-grandchildren Deagan, Oaklynn, Parker, and Oliver, and a baby girl on the way, as well as countless brothers/sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.<br /><br />Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel in Altus with Pastor Tyler McDowell officiating.<br /><br />Military honors will be rendered by the Altus Air Force Base Honors Team.<br /><br />Lowell-Tims will provide a live web-cast of the service beginning at 1:58 p.m. on Wednesday. Pete was born on February 7, 1947 in Alexandria, Minnesota as the 9th of 11 children to his parents Anton and Florence Forster. Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Chapel in Altus with Pastor Tyler McDowell officiating.

Military honors will be rendered by the Altus Air Force Base Honors Team.
