Linda Gayle Gibbs
Linda Gayle Odom Gibbs, 75, of Panama City, FL went to be with the Lord Thursday, January 23, 2020. She was born January 12, 1945 in Bonifay, Florida. Linda always had a heart and a passion for helping others. At age 15, she told her parents, she wanted to be a missionary. In 1980, she graduated nursing school. She enjoyed taking care of people, reading, and to learn new things. She was very creative and loved many forms of Art. She was a poet and often you would find her writing them as God gave to her using his creation as inspiration. Linda was a lifetime member of Midway Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by numerous loved ones including her parents, Charlie and Josie Odom; two sisters, Edna Casey and Charlene Smith (Smitty); and three grandchildren. Those left to cherish Linda’s memory include her husband of 32 years, Billy Joe Gibbs; daughters, Eudora Smith (Murray) and Kelly Kilpatrick (Eddie) all of White City, FL; sons, James Billig (Mickee) of Springfield, OH and Jonathan Billig of Panama City Beach, FL; a granddaughter she raised as her daughter, Amber LeAnne Lawrence of Panama City, FL; sister, Julia McQuaig (James) of Port St Joe, FL; eight grandchildren by birth and numerous through love and marriage; ten great-grandchildren; and several children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren she claimed; brothers-in-law, Larry Gibbs (Connie), Bobby Gibbs (Levonia) of Panama City, FL, Rusty Gibbs (Sherry) of Tallahassee, FL and Colin Gibbs of Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 27, 2020 at Heritage Funeral Home with Chaplain Conrad Meadows officiating. The family will receive friends beginning 1:00 P.M. prior to the service.January 12, 1945 - January 23, 202001/12/194501/23/2020
