Charles William White, 74, of Fairmont, passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2020, at his residence. Charles was born in Shinnston on July 7, 1945, a son of the late Charles Jerome White and Myra Louise Nestor White. Charles is survived by his daughter, Yvonne White of Indiana; several step-children including Sheila Costin and Bernard Wix, both of Fairmont; two brothers, John Barnett and his wife Jeannie of Metz and Emmett White of Blacksville; five sisters, Mary Gorby of Fairmont, Emma Carroll of Lumberport, Carolyn Martin of Fairmont, Patricia Sheppard and her husband Jimmy of Fairmont, and Ethel Varner of Fairmont; a special friend, Jack Shuck of Fairmont; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Ellen Wix White; a brother, Jerry White; and three sisters, Nancy Pobega, Barbara Wyer, and Beatrice Gower. Charles enjoyed fishing, watching Nascar and being with his family and friends. He worked for the Department of Highways and Three Rivers Iron and Metal. The family will receive friends at Ford Funeral Home, R.C. Jones Chapel, 1410 Country Club road, Fairmont, WV 26554, on Sunday, January 26, 2020, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, January 27, 2020, at 11 a.m. A committal service will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Fairmont.
