Jason Booth Obituary

Jason Booth, 40, of Valdosta, passed away on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Fellowship Home following a courageous 33 month battle against Glioblastoma Brain Cancer. He was born in Tifton on May 29, 1979 to Dan Edward Booth and Doris Cooper Booth. He graduated from Berrien County High in 1997 and attended VSU. He soon followed his entrepreneurial streak to go into the tropical fish business and he moved to Tallahassee to pursue this opportunity. While in Tallahassee he met the former Sarah Dailey and they were married in Tallahassee on September 20, 2008. Then in 2011 they moved back to Valdosta to help his family operate Ray’s Millpond. He also went to work with his Uncle at Willacoochee Industrial Fabrics setting up the quality control laboratory. Jason was a very skilled capable person, and he worked very hard to support his family. He was a devoted fan of the FSU Seminoles Football and college football. His interests included traveling, being outdoors, hunting, and especially fishing. He loved helping others and caring for animals. Jason is survived by his wife Sarah Booth, son Ashton Booth, daughter Arabella Booth, all of Valdosta, his parents Dan and Doris Booth, of Ray City, and sister and brother in law Heather and Michael Heard of Adel. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and his beloved dog “Duchess”. A funeral service for Jason will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at Park Avenue United Methodist Church with Rev. Jimmy Towson and Rev. Jamie Bone officiating. Burial will follow at McLane Riverview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5-7 pm at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Park Avenue United Methodist Church or the “Be Dave Brave" (The David Waldron Foundation), P.O. Box 3983, Valdosta, GA 31604.
