Kenneth Wayne (Kenny) Love, resident of Blackwell, died on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, after sudden cardiac arrest in his home three days prior. He was 71 years old. Kenny was born to Ernest Love and Bea (Taylor) Love in Blackwell, OK on February 10, 1943. He was raised in Blackwell and attended Blackwell Public Schools. On March 27, 1964, he married Shirley Jean Newland Spears. He adopted Cheryl Lynn, Shirley�s daughter from her previous marriage, and the couple had two more daughters, Kenna Louise and Paula Gayle. Kenny felt that his purpose in life was to provide for his family and he worked hard to make sure they always had their needs met. He drove a truck for the Turvey Meat Packing Plant and also worked for the Blackwell Zinc Smelter and Acme Foundry. In the late 1970s he began working for C.F.M. as a pattern maker and continued there for 28 years until his retirement. He had a strong work ethic and it was rare for him to miss a day of work. In his younger days, Kenny loved to spend time outdoors. Fishing and hunting were two of his favorite pastimes, especially when he could share that time with loved ones and friends. He also enjoyed music and would sometimes strum his acoustic guitar and sing to entertain his daughters, and later, his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Kenneth is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Love and Paula Love, both of Blackwell; his grandchildren, Briana Jean (Grace) Cook and husband Zachary of Ponca City, OK, Nicholas Joe Love and fianc�e Michelle Mendiola of Tonkawa, OK, Michaela Dianne (Grace) Lammas and husband Adam of Ponca City, OK, and Alexandria Mykal Bowan of Blackwell; a son-in-law, Terry Grace of Ponca City, OK; and four great-grandchildren, Aubrey Taylor Cook, Tallon Zayne Cook, McKenna Jean Cook, and Kaydence Marie Lammas. His wife Shirley preceded him in death in 2013, as did his daughter Kenna Louise Grace in 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents and both of his brothers, George and Paul. Memorial services will be 2:00pm, Friday, January 23 at Christ's Church, 1203 S. 6th, Blackwell, Oklahoma with Pastor Milo Davis officiating.
