Albert "Albie" Archer Burchett, 81, passed away, Saturday, January 18, at Pikeville Medical Center following a sudden illness. He was born on April 22, 1938, at his parent's home at Sugarloaf and has lived most of his life in Prestonsburg, KY. He graduated in 1964 with a Juris Doctorate Degree and practiced law for 50 years in the state of Kentucky. He was a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and Stone Crest Golf Club. He is survived by the love of his life, Bette Martin Burchett, 2 brothers, Joe "Bucky" Arthur (Barbara) and Paul Preston (Sharon) Burchett, 2 sons, Joe Wheeler (Amber) Burchett II and Jason Andrew Burchett, 2 daughters, Jamie Dawn McQueen and Stayce Elizabeth McQueen. He is also survived by 6 granddaughters, Jette, Carly and Bella Burchett; Shannon and Ali Derham; Ashleigh Riffe; and 1 grandson, Nick Derham and a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other loved ones. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 21, from 6 until 9 p.m. under the loving and professional care of Carter Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Wednesday, January 22 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist (Irene Cole Memorial) Church in Prestonsburg.
