Ronald Leroy Riggs, Sr., age 63 of Lansing passed away Thursday, January 16, 2020 at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing Campus. A memorial visitation will be held from 1:30-5:00 PM on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at the American Legion Post 248, 1240 E Grand River Rd, Laingsburg, MI 48848. Ronald was born January 29, 1956 in Howell, Michigan to Ralph and Violet (Brant) Riggs. He graduated from Bath High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army. Upon discharge he returned to the area to raise a family settling in Perry, MI then moved to Lansing after the kids were out of the house. He worked many years as a heavy equipment operator for PADNOS Recycling formerly Summit Steel Processing Corporation, and was forced into early retirement in 2006 following a debilitating stroke that left him disabled. Ronald enjoyed spending time with family, friends, fishing and hunting. Ronald is survived by his children; Ronald (Christina) Riggs and Jamie Ostrander-Riggs, his grandchildren; Alexis and Gavyn Riggs, Daniel, Terrah, and Robbie Ostrander, his siblings; Richard Riggs, mary (Howard) Cranson, Evelyn (Wayne) Cranson, June Risper, Ralph (Charmaine) Riggs, his dog; Zues and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
