Elmer Schultz Obituary

E. Allen Schultz, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 7, 2020 following a brief but severe illness. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Olive Jean (Thomas) Schultz; two daughters, Linda Snyder and Lois Wyrick, son-in-law Brad, daughter-in-law Arleen Eppinger, and seven grandchildren. Allen's son, Glen, preceded him in death. Born to Florence and Elmer Allen Schultz, Sr., Allen was raised in Allentown, PA, graduated from Allentown High School in 1949 and graduated from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA in 1953 with a BA Degree in English Education. He served two years in the US Army as a chaplain's assistant during most of that time. Thereafter he pursued a lifelong career as a Director of Fundraising Development, working for numerous non-profit organizations. He was affiliated with the Moravian Music Foundation in Winston-Salem, NC, the Easter Seals Society and the Florida Orchestra. Allen was a strong Christian, serving on various church consistories as both Elder and Deacon over the years. He enjoyed singing tenor while performing with many church choirs and theatre groups throughout his life. He had a great appreciation for many different musical aspects, his favorites being musical comedies and grand opera. In 2001 he had the opportunity to participate in a multi-church mission project in Honduras, an experience which remained close to his heart. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on January 25, 2020 at First Presbyterian Church, 701 Beach Drive NE, St. Petersburg, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to The Foundation For International Missions (FFIM), c/o 701 Beach Drive NE, St Petersburg, FL 33701 or visit https://www.ffim.org/donate
