Mr. Gary Andrew “Andy” Legate, Jr., 53, of Aiken, SC, husband of Tracey S. Overstreet Legate, entered into rest on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. Born in Rhode Island, a son of the late Gary Andrew, Sr. and Jacqueline Yvonne Johnson Legate, he had been a resident of Aiken County, SC, since 1994. He proudly and with honor served his country in the United States Navy for ten years. Gary was an “Electronic Whiz” and was a former Scout Leader. He enjoyed computers, tutoring, playing the trumpet and trombone, astronomy science and let us not forget raising chickens. In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his step-mother, Shirley Legate, children and their spouses, Monica and Jeffrey Peterson, Andrea and Rodney Ayala, John Legate, Alexandra Stone, Zachery Legate and Joshua Burge, siblings and their spouses, Lisa Legate, Carla and Terrance Garvin, Rodney, Jr and Lisa Cooper and Chris Langley and his companion, Donnie Lamar and grandchildren, Kilara Carver, Eli Lewis, Madeline Peterson and Theodore Ayala.A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2020, beginning at 2 o’clock at Langley Church of God, Langley, SC.
