Marjorie Sue Fitzpatrick, 78, of Palmyra, Missouri, passed away Saturday at her home. She was born October 25, 1937 in Stoutsville, Missouri to Eben C. and Neva E. Smelser Greening. Sue married James L. Fitzpatrick December 16, 1955 in Hannibal, MO.. He preceded her in death March 7, 2010. Sue is survived by a daughter, Janet Fitzpatrick Hagerty and a son, Dennis Ray Fitzpatrick, both of Palmyra; grandchildren; Amanda Harvey, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Courtney Quick, Eve Fitzpatrick, Jordan Hagerty, Josh Hagerty, James Hagerty, Tammi Fitzpatrick Rieff, and Samantha Kahs, sister, Ellie (Bill) Couch of Stoutsville, MO.; sisters-in-law; Vida Greening of Columbia, MO; and Irene Newbrough of Palmyra, 9 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews. Sue was preceded in death by her husband, daughter, Deborah Fitzpatrick, brothers, Tom, Marvin, E. C., and Don Greening, sisters, Mary Ann King and Martha Dye, and granddaughter, Lindsey Fitzpatrick. Sue had worked for Crown Shoe Factory and American Safety. She then provided in home health care to area residents. She was a graduate of Monroe City High School. Sue was a homemaker, mother, wife, and grandmother, and loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, and playing cards. She attended Little Union Baptist Church west of Palmyra. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A. M. Wednesday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel in Palmyra. Rev. Dewayne Larenson will officiate. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Palmyra, Missouri. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P. M. Tuesday at Lewis Brothers Funeral Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital . Casket Bearers are Dillion Quick, Trey Harvey, Nick Harvey, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Jordan Hagerty, Joshua Hagerty, and James Hagerty. Honorary Bearers are Alex Baker, McKayla Quick, Katherine Goellner, Terryn Goellner, Lylean Hoskins, Luke Hoskins, Destiny Harvey, and nieces and nephews.
