Melvin Graham
Brother Melvin L. Graham Sr. was born on November 8, 1931 in Wards, Alabama to the late Sophia Russ and Daniel L. Graham. He was the only son of four children from this union. Brother Graham is preceded in death by his father, Daniel L. Graham and mother, Sophia Russ; two sisters, Mable Graham and Clara Graham; two sons, Daniel Graham and Johnny Graham. Sometime during the 1940’s, Brother Graham moved to Milton, Florida as a child before going back to Alabama. In 1952, he moved back to Milton, Florida with his first wife Lee Grace Graham Pinkney, who precedes him in death. In his early years he was employed by the Locklin family of Milton, Florida. He was head custodian at Vanity Fair and from there Santa Rosa Hospital. Brother Graham accepted Christ at a young age. He remained faithful to Christ until his death. In the 1960’s he began his Christian journey under the leadership of Brother Ora Lee and Sister Mattie Freeman, who remained his best friends upon death. Brother Graham leaves to cherish his memory, a wife, Lily Graham; sister, Lilly Bell (Walter) Robinson of Marianna, Florida; step-sister, Sarah Jo Wingate of Pensacola, Florida; Eight children: Betty Bloxson of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Melvin Jr. of Raleigh, NC., Rose Mary Coleman of Mansfield, OH., Carolyn (Josh Sr.) Johnson of Milton, FL., Spencer Graham of Milton, FL., Shirley Rich of Milton, FL., Barbara (James) Waitman of Milton, FL. and Clinton Hall of Milton, FL. He also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Also, his church family at Ferris Hill C.O.G.I.C., where he was a faithful member at the time of his death. The Lord called Brother Melvin Graham home in the early hours of January 1, 2020. He lived to see 88 years of life. Funeral Service will be held at Ferris Hill Church of God in Christ, Saturday, January 11, 2020 visitation is at 9:30 until 11:00 when service begins.
