Stanley Smith Phoenix, Arizona Obituary

Stanley Smith

"Friends and family feel free to submit words and pics to add to Stanley's page (please be sensitive to the variety of adults, children, church folk, co-workers in his life as you consider language and images). And thank you in advance for submissions as these will be a blessing." Remembering Stanley Stanley Smith, community member of Sun City Arizona completed his journey on the morning of December 29, 2019. The son of James and Lester Mae (Coleman) Smith, Stanley was born in Little Rock Arkansas September 8,1949 and in what was to be a theme in his journey lived in several states before completing his formative years in Oceanside, California, San Diego County. Stanley, always a sharp dresser, articulate, personable, and of strong mind considered becoming a court stenographer but life and country directed him elsewhere. Stanley did many things in life: • A soldier and Vietnam veteran • Lead singer in a popular local band, "QT & the Roadrunners" • Avid Warriors fan and high school football player • Truck driver and professional mover • Community College Program Graduate • Church usher • Recreational golfer (which he truly enjoyed!) • Motorcycle rider (state to state to state....) He leaves behind two sisters, Evelyn and Wanda, a brother, Brett, daughter and son, Andria and Lewis, cousins local, cousins Detroit and Las Vegas, nieces, nephews, cherished golf buddies in Phoenix as well as Southern California, cherished neighbor, dear college friendships, colleagues, and "in life" mates near and in Nebraska. On behalf of his family, and there are too many to call out individually, thank you for caring for Stanley and bringing him so much unmistakable joy. He had an army caring for him! While he is already greatly missed, it is with great thanks we are reminded that he is now at rest, his journey was full of unbelievable good, and he is in the Father's house. (John 14:1-3)

I am still tempted to this day to call you when I need advice, to get lost on the phone for hours talking about everything. I would do anything for another one of those calls. I kept all your voicemails and I still listen to them. It was such a pleasure to see you comple... Continue Reading

Our friendship from the very start was effortless. The days I most cherish with you were when we helped each other with home projects. More then once my truck was loaded with a 1/2 ton of sand - or bricks, and we made a lot of trips to the landfill. I miss how we ju... Continue Reading

I remember just getting in the car and driving no destination in mind. Just looking for good food, shopping and cold stones! I miss you so much, but I’m forever grateful for all the wonderful memories, keep your arms wrapped around us!

To my Dad. It's still hard coming to terms with the fact that you're gone. I still find myself wanting to call you and see how your day is going. My head knows that you're no longer in pain, but my heart is another story. I love and miss you so very much Dad. Love, You... Continue Reading
