Helen M. Reynolds Obituary

Thorndike- Helen M. (Planta) Reynolds passed away January 2, 2020 with her daughter by her side. Born February 27, 1927, she was the daughter of the late William and Rose (Simeoni) Planta. She married the late William E. (Bucky) Reynolds, Jr. in 1946. Helen retired from the Monson Developmental Center where she worked as a cook and a food administrator. She loved to cook and enjoyed art. She displayed her artistic talents with porcelain figurines and painted plates. She was a talented singer who enjoyed participating in talent shows and also loved to travel. She was past commander of the American Legion Post 130 Women's Auxillary and was the past president of the Rebeccah Lodge 106. Helen was also a devoted member of the Ludlow senior center, where she attended and organized many trips and events. Besides her parents, Helen was predeceased by her son, Richard Reynolds and her brother, George Planta. She will be dearly missed by her daughter, Gail (Reynolds) Clark and her grand-daughters, Paige and Kate Clark. She loved her great-grandchildren, Dylan Tenczar and Naomi Dao. She also leaves behind two grandchildren from PA, Kenneth and Krista Reynolds, as well as her beloved sister-in-law, Marion Planta and nieces Linda Burnham, Debbie Burnham and Georgia Epting. Calling hours will be held at the Beers & Story Funeral Home in Palmer on Saturday, January 11th from 10-12pm with closing prayers at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christ Community Church's building fund, 1255 Federal Street Belchertown MA 01007.
