Hazel (Wundrow) Norman Obituary

Hazel H. (Wundrow) Norman, 98, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday January 3rd, 2020 at Rennes Health & Rehab Center. Hazel was born February 22, 1921 in the Town of Buchanan, Outagamie County, State of Wisconsin, the 3rd daughter of the late August and Mary (Gergs) Wundrow. She was baptized and confirmed at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Appleton. Hazel married Lawrence Norman on October 23rd, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church. They lived at various locations in Appleton their entire married lives. Hazel especially loved her Condo in Windfield Place and often times said it was the best move they ever made. She was able to live there independently until she was 96. Hazel worked for Kimberly Clark for 34 years, retiring in 1976. Hazel was a longtime member of the Elks Club. She enjoyed singing and performed in Chaminade Women’s Chorus. She did various volunteer works in retirement including delivering Meals on Wheels and volunteering at Appleton Memorial Hospital. Hazel loved nature (Especially Fall colors), music and animals with a special passion for horses. She is survived by a step-daughter, Katharine “Kitty” (Virgil) Miller of Topeka Kansas; 1 step- grandchild (Michael Miller); 6 step- great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Lawrence; her brothers-in-law (Bob, Jack and Bill) her sister-in-law Ruth Coleman half-brothers and sister, Arthur (Gladys), Walter (Irene) and Elsie; her brothers and sisters, Adela (Ben) Heideman, Harvey (Hilda), Elsie (Harry) Warren, Ray (Della), Clarence (Ethel), Elmer (Harriet), Robert and Leonard (Myrtle) and a step-grandson (Kevin Miller). Funeral services for Hazel will be at 12:00 PM on Friday January 10, 2020 at Tri County Chapel - Wichmann Funeral Home Tri County Chapel, 1592 Oneida St. Menasha, WI. 54952, with Pastor Brian Bankert of Trinity Lutheran officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Hazel’s name. Hazel’s family would like to thank the staff at Appleton Retirement Community and Rennes Health and Rehab for their care and friendship to Hazel during her stay with them. A special thank you to Aliza - Hazel loved the braids.
