MOUNT HOREB - Kirk Matthew Jewell, age 37, of Mount Horeb, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020. He was born on June 2, 1982, in Richland Center, Wis., the son of Dean and Julie (Polaski) Jewell. Kirk graduated from Richland Center High School in 2001 and went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from UW Stevens Point. He married Jody Snider on Aug. 20, 2011, in Lancaster, Wis. Kirk worked as a materials manager for Cardinal Glass in Mazomanie, Wis. where he enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. He was an avid and knowledgeable sports fan. You could always find him cheering on the Badgers, Packers, Brewers and Bucks. He enjoyed spending time with his friends playing fantasy football. After playing sports in high school, including wrestling, he went on to referee local wrestling. His greatest love was his wife and children. His passion for his children was shown in everything he did for them. He loved to go to the park, swimming and riding bikes with the kids. You could find him playing catch with Owen and barbies with Vada. He would spoil them with whatever they wanted. He will live on through the lessons he taught them. Kirk is survived by his wife, Jody; son, Owen, age 7; daughter, Vada, age 4; mother, Julie Jewell; parents-in-law, Ginny and Larry Snider; grandparents, John and Nancy Polaski; grandmother, Rosemary Jewell; four sisters-in-law, Shelly (Tom) Maas, Tina (Brent) McDonald, Becky (Lee) Gotto, and Carrie (Chad) Olmstead; and nieces, a nephew, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Jewell; brother, Todd Jewell; and grandfather, Roger Jewell. A funeral service will be held at ST. IGNATIUS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 109 S. Sixth Street, Mount Horeb, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2020. Burial will be held at Richland Center Cemetery. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON CAMACHO FUNERAL & CREMATION CARE, 500 N. Eighth Street, Mount Horeb, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
