Lydia W. McKee

Palmer-Lydia W. (Witkowski) McKee, 88, passed away December 31, 2019. Born July 13, 1931 in Palmer, she was the daughter of Ignacy and Bernice (Serowik) Witkowski. Lydia has been a lifelong resident of Palmer and worked for over 25 years at Monsanto in the accounting department. For the past 22 years, she has been the faithful parish secretary to Fr. Stefan and Divine Mercy Parish. Devoted to her church, she was a member of the Women’s Sodality and a former member of the church choir. She also did volunteering at the Wing Memorial Hospital and in her leisure enjoyed spending time at Hampton Beach as well as painting. She was a regular customer at her favorite lunch spots, namely Friendly’s and Burgundy Brook, most often accompanied by her dear friend, Fr. Stefan Besides her parents and her seven older siblings, she was predeceased by her husband Earl. Lydia will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family and fellow parishioners. Visitation will be Sunday Jan. 12th from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Church with burial to follow beside her husband in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
