Myrtle Diane Jones of Abilene, formerly of Brownsville, TN passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at her residence. A memorial Services will be held Saturday January 18th at North's Funeral Home beginning at 2pm with Pastor Deori Newman officiating. <br><br><br>Myrtle was born June 24, 1957 in Brownsville, TN to the late James Boyd and late Callie Mae Boyd Mann. Callie Mae Boyd Mann later Married Willie T. Mann<br>Myrtle received her primary education from Brownsville public schools. Soon after high school she attended Nursing School and began a life-long career in nursing until her retirement. Myrtle accepted Christ at an early age and was an active member of Chapel Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Brownsville, Tn until relocating to Abilene Texas where she later became an active member of Ash Street Baptist Church serving on the Pastor’s Aid, Usher, Choir, Sunday School Superintendent, and Financial Board. Myrtle also served as a Committee Member of ICAN(Interested Citizens of Abilene North) which was a non profit organization designed to develop, maintain, restore, and enhance the Carver/Stevenson communities by providing skill training opportunities; affordable seminar training, cultural awareness and civic participation for community members; assist in the clothing and feeding of the needy in the neighborhoods and she loved to cook, and was very good at it. <br><br><br>Myrtle was preceded in death by parents, biological father James Boyd Sr., mother Callie Mae Boyd Mann, and Willie T. Mann. Son, Walter Robertson Jr., brothers; Mike Boyd and James Boyd Jr, sisters; Sandra Boyd and Billie Mann.<br><br><br>Left to cherish her memories are: son, Andre Robertson (Constance) of Abilene, TX., brothers: Danny Mann (Andrea) of Rockford, IL., Donnie Mann of Atwood TN., David Mann (Carla) of Jackson, TN., Paul Mann (Janice) of Brownsville TN., David Boyd of Nashville, TN., Ulise Boyd of Atlanta, GA., Stacy Boyd (Angela) of Memphis, TN.,. Sisters: Margaret Reed (Willie) of Rockford, IL,. Janet Mitchell (Darrell) of Rockford, IL., Deborah Thornton of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Annette Bradford (Jerry) of Brownsville, TN., Karen Edwards (Wyde) of Jackson, TN., Kay King (Donnie) of Brownsville, TN., grandchildren Xavier Robertson, Maurisha Walker, Andre Monroy, great-grandson Amaziah Miranda, and a host of extended family and many friends.
