Charles Calvin Cather Charles Calvin Cather of Coyle died on December 30, 2019 at his home in Coyle. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Strode Funeral Chapel in Stillwater with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater. Charles was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma on March 18, 1933 to Earl and Anna Cather. He married Grace Marie (Peckham) Cather in Stillwater, Oklahoma on December 18, 1958 and celebrated 61st anniversary. To this marriage were born four children. He was a member of Coyle Christian Church and served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by parents, Earl Cather and wife Anna, brothers Roy Derruisseaux, Donald Derruisseaux, Alvin Cather and three infant brothers. He is survived by his wife; his sons, Donald of Claremore, OK, Paul and wife Shirley of Coyle, OK; his daughters Linda and husband Rodney of Coyle, OK, daughter Charlotte husband of Roger; one brother-in-law and five sisters-in-laws; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine nephews; six nieces; several cousins and many friends. Charles graduated from Pawnee High School in 1953. Drafted into service after high school graduation. Enlisted into Infantry, U.S Army, and then served three years during Korea War Era until Honorable Discharge. After military services, attended Okmulgee Technical College, (OSU Tech), and then accepted employment at Oklahoma A&M College, (Oklahoma State University), in Student Union as Chef and then as Baker. After a long tenure, accepted a position at Consumers IGA as baker until accepted an offer as line worker at SWAN Hose. And then returned to Consumers IGA until retirement. Began as a member in 1997, started to serve as an Deacon at Manual Baptist Church of Stillwater in 1998 until 2013. Charles enjoyed walking, movies, circle word search and daily bible reading. His family would like to express their appreciation Jamie with Best Choice Home Health per accurate supervision of care. In addition, his family appreciates care given by Veterans Administration, VA. Furthermore, his family wants to express gratitude to Linda Matheson per seven years of patience and loving care which did not go unnoticed.
