Janet L. "Crick" Hook

Janet L. “Crick” Hook, 74, of Augusta, WV, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 30, 2019 at her home. Crick was born on September 26, 1945 in Augusta, WV, the daughter of the late Robert and Lovene Fultz Sirk. She was a member of the Timber Ridge Pentecostal Church in Cross Junction, VA. Crick enjoyed going to church, singing, gardening, canning and most of all spending time with her family. Crick married Thomas W. Hook on January 24, 1977 in Winchester, VA. Surviving with her husband of nearly 43 years is her daughter: Monica K. Speelman (Kenny) of Augusta, WV; seven brothers: Gary “Doc” Sirk of Augusta, WV; Terry “Buck” Sirk or Romney, WV; Robert “Bobby” Sirk, Frank Sirk, Adam Sirk, Eddie Sirk all of Augusta, WV and Wayne Sirk of Romney, WV; two sisters: Bonnie Ingram of Frederick, MD and Cathy Cruz of Augusta, WV; and a special nephew: Michael Lanning. Crick is preceded in death by a grandson: DJ Miller and a sister: Wanda Lewis. A funeral will be held on Friday, January 3, 2019 at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV at 1:30 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Dave Alter. Interment will follow in the Old Kidwell Cemetery near Slanesville, WV. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12–1:30 PM.
