Those who walk uprightly enter into peace; they find rest as they lie in death."</p><p><br></p><p> Mrs. Annie Lee Parker Kinney, 71, of 137 Carriage Road, Statesville, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2019, at her home surrounded by family following an extended illness. She was born in Iredell County on August 3, 1948 and was the daughter of the late Charlie Parker and Maggie Sherrill Parker. She was married to Leonard Kinney for over 52 years, who survives. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Anthony J. Kinney and Leonard Jerrod Kinney, III, a sister, Linda Bailey; brother – Little Charlie Parker, Jr., step-mother-in-law, Odell Kinney; her father-in-law, Clifton Kinney; brothers-in-law, Lamont Kinney, Clemmon Kinney and Clifford Kinney; step sisters-in-law, Judy Carson and Kizler Kinney; a niece – April Gillespie; and a nephew, Edwin Parker. </p><p> She was a graduate of Unity High School, class of “66” and was a lifelong member of Clark’s Chapel Baptist Church where she served as an Usher and was a member of the Kitchen Committee and the Hospitality Committee.</p><p> In addition to her husband, Leonard Kinney of the home; she leaves to cherish the memory of her life her children, Leonard “Naughty” (Shelley) Kinney of Statesville and Kizler Kinney Heaggans of the home; one brother, Wilbert (Brenda) Parker of Harmony; three sisters, Peggy (Tyrone) Morrison, Maggie (Ted) Alexander, and Kathy Grimes, all of Statesville; brothers-in-law, Ellard (Cheryl) Kinney, Aaron Hill, Jonathan (Val) Kinney, Rickey (Paula) Kinney, Claude (Tammy) Carson, all of Cleveland, OH, Joktan (Carolyn) Kinney of Norfollk, VA, Matthew (Darlene) Kinney of Matthews, NC, and Jabo Carson of South Caorlina; sister-in-law, Jackie Hudson of Georgia, Latrese Carpenter, Carolyn Hill, Sabrina Jefferson, Renee Kinney, Evette Crews, Sharon Torres, and Daffney Copeland, all of Cleveland, Ohio, and Monica Kinney of Statesville; her grandchildren, Marvin (Ashley) Heaggans, Antoine (Clorrissa) Heaggans, Lasasha Kinney, Nichelle (Charles) Raines, and Ashlynn Kinney; great grandchildren, Marceanna Heaggans, Makayla Heaggans, Alayshia Brown, Ja’Nae Brown, Mayilah Heaggans, Faith Heaggans, Aniyah Heaggans, Arianna Heaggans, Antionne Heaggans, Jr., Deyontae Kinney, Adreama Kinney, Deyontae Kinney, Charity Raines, Mariah Raines, Mahleek Raines, Mikko Raines and JeMareyah Stevenson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.</p><p>***SPECIAL RECOGNITION***</p><p>Honorary Niece, Ebony Stinson; Honorary Great Nephew, Parker Stinson; Honorary Aunts, Dorothy Sturghill and </p><p>Geraldine Grimes; Honorary Cousins, Polly Thompson, Requal “Binky” Murdock, Ann Griffin, Honorary Friends, Carolyn Wilson, Ann James, Donna Gibbs, Robin McCall, Faye Heaggans, Inola Jones, Aileen Alexander; Flower Bearers, Daisha Thompson, Jasmine Crosby, Marceanna Heaggans, Aniyah Heaggans, Adrian Brown, Angela Berry; Pallbearers, Jerry Bailey, Jermel Gillespie, Perneil Morrison, Bryan Bailey, Talmige Brown, Jay Grimes, Jr., Tyrone Parker.</p><p>Special Appreciation</p><p>“The closest thing to being cared for is to care for someone else”</p><p>Special thank you to: Brandi Anthony, Halle Moore, Pam Gillion, and the entire Hospice Care of Iredell team.</p><p>Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Saturday, January 4, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. at Clark's Chapel Baptist Church.
