Guy Leonard Graf

Guy Leonard Graf was born on July 8, 1943 in Wamego, Kansas to Jacob Mathew and Hallie Grace Graf. He passed on December 26, 2019 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Guy was preceded in death by his father and mother Jake and Hallie Graf, as well as his sisters, Jackie Ward, Lucy Flemming and brother, Jay Graf. Guy was passionate about his involvement in his community as well as his family, including Lions Club, Garden Club, and numerous other charities. He was an extremely hard worker but was also as peaceful and laid back as anybody you would meet. Not only was he hard working in his personal life, but he had a successful career of 35 years for General Telephone and Electronics (GTE). Those that were fortunate enough to know him knew he was many things; generous, calm, thoughtful, loving and kind. Guy also loved reading, puzzles, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family. As an esteemed athlete himself in his early life, he also was very passionate about sports, particularly his beloved Gonzaga Bulldogs. Guy is survived by his wife Cathy of 33 years; daughters from a previous marriage, Melissa Barnhart, Gala Colombina, and Melinda Jeffreys. He is also survived by children from a second marriage, David Dunwoody, and Diane Blackhurst. Guy was blessed to have 13 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Service to commemorate his life will be held on Friday, January 3, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Yates Funeral Home in the Hayden Lake Chapel & Gathering Center located at 373 E Hayden Ave., Hayden Lake, ID 83835. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Spirit Lake Food Bank, 32154 4th Ave, Spirit Lake, ID 83869 and/or the Union Gospel Mission Center for Women and Children, 196 W Haycraft Ave, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815
