G. Edwin Lint Obituary

G. Edwin Lint, 81, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Tuesday March 31, 2015 at his home. Born on March 10, 1934 in Bellefonte, PA he was the son of the late Rev. J. Franklin and Madlein (Strohl) Lint. He was a retired Educator from the Pennsylvania State Department of Education. Prior to taking his position with the State, Ed was the administrator at the Laurelton State School and Hospital, Laurelton, PA; and Vineland State School and Hospital, Vineland, NJ. Ed also worked part-time as a radio broadcaster for WPGM – Danville, WJJR - Mifflinburg and Messiah College radio station. He had a nationally syndicated Gospel music program called Gospel Caravan. In the 70's, he developed a multi-media presentation to present the Gospel Message that was used at fairs, malls, and large gatherings. He was a Director of Christian Education at the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene. Ed served as leader of a local Gospel singing group, Higher Ground Singers as well as the proprietor of a Gospel music store. Ed and his wife attended the Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill. He was a self-published author of several books and websites to provide curriculum support and Education. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy (Hile) Lint, of Mechanicsburg; two sons, David E. Lint and his wife Emily, of Mechanicsburg; James A. Lint and his wife Victoria, of Philadelphia; two daughters, Judith L. Carney and her husband Patrick, of New Cumberland; Jessica L. Cherrico and her husband Steven, of Nashville, TN. He is also survived by two brothers, J. Franklin Lint, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Richard A. Lint, of Culloden, WV; a sister, Janice E. Vanderpool and her husband RG, of Nampa, ID., and six grandchildren: Dillon Lint, Victoria Carney, Amy Lint, Justus Cherrico, Nathan Cherrico and Corina Cherrico and one great-grandson, Samuel Carney. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday April 6, 2015 at Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Rd., Camp Hill. A visitation with his family will be held in the church on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.
