Robert Clark “Bob” Goodwin, AIA, 83, of Palatka, passed from this life on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center in Orange Park surrounded by his loving family. Born in Crescent City to John Henry Goodwin and Lillian Burton Goodwin, he was a 1954 graduate of Crescent City High School. In 1959, Bob graduated from the University of Florida School of Architecture with his bachelors’ degree. He began a lifelong career as an architect with the several firms in the Jacksonville area until the joining the CRG Architectural firm in Jacksonville in 1985 and opened a branch office in Palatka in 1988. Bob worked the remainder of his career in his office in downtown Palatka. He was also active in the community through his membership with Sunrise Rotary Club in Palatka and the Rotary Club of Crescent City. Bob likewise served as a board member of the ARC of Putnam County and was involved with the Historical Society. One of Bob’s favorite past-times was his love of watercolor painting and his membership in the Jacksonville Water Color Society. In addition to his devotion to his architecture work, Bob also enjoyed photography.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John-Karl Goodwin, 2 brothers, John Wilbur Goodwin and James “Jimmy” Goodwin.

Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jana Craig Goodwin of Palatka, a son, Gregory Scott Goodwin (Mary Helen) of Jacksonville, a step-daughter, Alise Reynolds (Tom) of Orange Park, a daughter-in-law, Karen Goodwin (Mike Oransky) of Gainesville, the mother of his children, Rhoda Nash Oehser of Jacksonville, a brother, Walter Fredrick Goodwin (Lee) of Crescent City, 2 sisters-in-law, Libby Goodwin of Jacksonville and Lois Goodwin Glaze of Crescent City, 5 grandchildren, Emma Lillian Caudill (Kyle), Mary Grace Goodwin, Brian Nash Goodwin, Jenna Karli Goodwin and Kelsey Brielle Goodwin, a step-grandson, Garrison Reynolds, 2 great-grandchildren, Sam Goodwin and Camden Caudill and several nieces and nephews.

Services celebrating Bob’s life will be at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of services at 12:00. Private burial will follow the services at Eden Cemetery in Crescent City.
