<p><p>It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Mother, Ruth Jozwiak (née Raven) who passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on the morning of Wednesday January 7, 2026.</p><p><br></p><p>Born on September 14, 1946, Ruth spent her formative years in Harley, Ontario, where her roots ran deep. She is preceded by her Parents, Carmen and Gladys Raven, her Siblings Stu (Shirley), Jim (Shirley), Pat (Wes), Sal (Frank), Bob and Carol, and Sister-in-law Cathy. She is survived by her youngest brother Jack (Cathy), Brother-in-law Wes, Sister-in-laws Angie Sobeski, Junia Jozwiak, Joanne Jozwiak and many nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>On February 2, 1963, Ruth married the love of her life, Edward "Eddie" Jozwiak. They were blessed to have celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary before Eddie's passing in 2018. Ruth was a devoted and loving Mother to Judy, Ronnie (Catherine) and David (Marie), a proud Grandmother to Lacey, Cody (Suman), Laken, Quinn, Jake, Luke, and TJ and Great-Grandmother to Simran.</p><p><br></p><p>Ruth treasured her years working on the tobacco farms with Eddie in Burford and was renowned for her Christmas Eve get-togethers that always included family, friends and way too much food, however, no one was ever heard complaining about the leftover pierogis or cabbage rolls! She transformed the trees on the property making her home a warm and inviting place to gather for the holidays. She found joy in the simple things including motorcycle adventures with Eddie, growing beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, feeding the birds, and caring for the many stray animals she and Ed took in over the years.</p><p><br></p><p>Ruth had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.</p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends are welcome to visit at the Keith Ovington Funeral Home, 134 King Street, Burford, on Sunday from 1-4 p.m. A Celebration of Ruth’s Life will be held in the chapel on Monday January 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Interment Harley Cemetery.
