<p><p>Sandra Meade Decker, formerly of Cortland, NY, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025, at the age of 92. </p> <p>A resident of Cortland for more than 50 years, Sandra was born on March 6, 1933 in Schenectady, NY, to the late David Eddy Meade and Mildred Clark Meade. She was a graduate of Binghamton High School, Westminster College and Columbia University School of Nursing.</p> <p>Sandra worked for the Homer School District for more than 25 years retiring as a School Nurse Teacher. Prior to that she had worked for the Binghamton City School District and the State University of New York at Cortland.</p> <p>Sandra was very active in her community serving on the Cortland County Red Cross Board of Directors and Grace Episcopal Church Vestry for many years. She also was an active member of AAUW, Garden Club and Gourmet Club. Sandra loved life and always had a smile on her face and place in her heart for everyone. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. </p> <p>Sandra was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband of 52 years, Gary Decker. She was also predeceased by her brother, David Emery Meade and her grandnephew, David Emery Meade.</p> <p>Sandra is survived by her son, Gary (Lisa); grandsons, Matthew (Sarah) and Gary; sister in-law, Linda Meade; nephew, David Eddy Meade (Patti); niece, Heather Chansler (Eric): grandnieces, Michelle Meade, Jennifer Meade, Stephanie Meade and Britani Chansler; grandnephew Erik Chansler; and great granddaughter Quinn Schrader.</p> <p>Memorial services will be held at 12:00 pm. on Friday, July 25, 2025 at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 U.S. Route 11, Homer, with the Reverend Thomas Margrave officiating.</p> <p>Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Following the services a reception will be held at the Homer Elks Club, 82 Cortland Street, Homer, NY 14077. </p> <p>In lieu of flowers, please consider making a memorial contribution to the Great Falls Council Boy Scouts of America, c/o Gary A.
