Born on October 1, 1939, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Geri's journey through life was one marked by compassion, faith, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. On July 4, 2025, in Lafayette, Louisiana, Geri's earthly chapter came to a peaceful close surrounded by her loved ones in the care of hospice.

Geri's life was a testament to enduring love and partnership. She and her beloved husband, Jimmy Kreamer, shared 57 years of marriage, filled with laughter, support, and an ever-growing family. Together, they welcomed six children into the world, each of whom Geri cherished deeply. Her son Jim Kreamer Jr., his wife Mechelle, and their children Joshua, Kristine, and Luke; Kristine Elizabeth Kreamer, who passed away far too early in 1972; Kelly Kreamer Flavin, her husband Jim, and their children Corinne, Connor, Burke, and Quinn Flavin; Jeff Kreamer, his wife Cassi, and their children Joseph and Sarah Kreamer; Paul Kreamer, his wife Audrey, and their children Ana, Eli, Lucy, and Simon Kreamer; and Katherine Kreamer Buxton and her children Beckett, Griffin, Miles, and Evelyn Buxton, all carry forward the legacy of love and kindness that Geri exemplified.

Geri's siblings, Bubba Pourciau and his wife Marretta, and Sallie Odom and her husband Mike, as well as her sweet sisters-in-law, Elizabeth “Betty” Clarke and Jeanie Kreamer, were integral parts of her life, sharing in the joys and challenges that came their way. Geri’s parents, Joseph Lawrence Pourciau and Orlean Dickerson Pourciau of New Roads, LA, instilled in her the values of family and faith that she would carry with her always.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Jimmy Kreamer, her daughter Kristine Elizabeth Kreamer; her sister-in-law Estelle Niland; her brother-in-law Larry Kreamer; and her parents Lawrence and Orlean Pourciau.

A proud graduate of St. Joseph Academy in 1957, Geri's caring nature led her to pursue a nursing degree from Our Lady of the Lake Nursing School, which she completed in 1960. Her career as a nurse saw her bring comfort and healing to countless individuals, first at Lourdes Hospital and later as a dedicated school nurse for Lafayette Parish School Board. Even in retirement, Geri's compassionate spirit found expression through her volunteer work at St. Bernadette Health Clinic, where she served for over a decade.

Geri's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a pillar of the Holy Cross Catholic Church community for over 55 years, contributing as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and formation teacher. Her love for music and the arts was profound, and she sought to infuse this passion in her children and those around her.

An adventurous soul, Geri's love for travel took her across Europe, Canada, and Mexico, creating memories and bonds that lasted a lifetime. She believed in the importance of holistic medicine and healthy eating long before it became a trend, actively seeking knowledge and sharing it with others.

In the words of Mother Teresa, "Spread love everywhere you go; first of all in your house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next-door-neighbor. Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.” Geri lived by these words, embracing each day as a gift and an opportunity to make a positive impact. Her legacy is one of a thoughtful, faith-filled, and selfless individual who enriched the lives of everyone she touched. Geri Kreamer's story is not one of goodbye, but a beautiful reminder to live fully, love deeply, and leave a mark of goodness on the world.

Pallbearers will be, Joshua Kreamer, Luke Kreamer, Joseph Kreamer, Eli Kreamer, Connor Flavin and Beckett Buxton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be, Quinn Flavin, Burke Flavin, Giffin Buxton, Miles Buxton and Simon Kreamer.

The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Location on Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
