<p><p>Gary Randolph Hedger, 78 of Indian River, died July 2, 2025 at the McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.</p> <p>Born on June 9, 1947 in Detroit, MI, Gary was the son of Norman and Gwendolyn (Brookshire) Hedger and eldest brother to Sally, David, Debbie and Ricky. Gary graduated from Garden City High School before enlisting in the US Navy and proudly serving his country. Following his honorable discharge, Gary moved to Indian River MI where he owned and operated a Tattoo Shop and was even featured in a local newspaper for his work. Gary then went on to become a true outdoorsman and embraced his love of everything that is the outdoors in Northern Michigan; hunting, fishing, mushrooming, living off the land, and enjoyed learning about nature. In his last career move, Gary worked at Pat and Gary’s Bow Hole. Where he shared his vast knowledge to fellow outdoors enthusiasts.</p> <p>Gary is preceded in death by his beloved parents Norm and Gwen Hedger and brother David.</p> <p>He is survived by his 3 children, Lisa (Michael Vandel) Hedger, Scott (Roni) Hedger, and Galen (Jeff) Giannetti; grandchildren, Dean, Tyler, Kayli, Victoria, Danielle, and Cody; great grandchildren; 3 siblings, Sally (Mike) Miller, Debbie (John) Martin, and Rick Hedger; and by nieces and nephews, David Mike, Amy, Joey, Nicki, Sam and Rachel. </p> <p>Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Monday July 7th, 2025 from 2-4pm at the Stone Funeral Home in Indian River Michigan.
