<p>Lascelles George Jackson, 81, of East Hartford, beloved husband for 23 years and partner for 31 years of Lorna Diana (Adamson) Jackson, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at Hartford Hospital. Born in Richmond, St. Mary, Jamaica, West Indies on December 14, 1943, son of the late John Jackson and Inez Pollock, he was raised in Jones Town, Kingston, Jamaica and migrated to the United States in 1968 and settled in Hartford. He later lived in Manchester for 10 years before moving to East Hartford where he had lived since 1999.</p><p><br></p><p>Lascelles worked for over 30 years as a welder and later as a foreman for Equipment Service in Hartford. Most recently, he worked for Central Connecticut Trucking as a welder and had retired in 2022 after eight years of service.</p><p><br></p><p>In his spare time and during his retirement, Lascelles enjoyed walking around his neighborhood and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a dedicated husband, father, and grandfather. He was loving, kind-hearted, and always upbeat. Lascelles also loved to play dominoes with his family and friends, and he loved to dance and was always found on the dance floor at weddings, parties, and get-togethers.</p><p><br></p><p>A dedicated Christian throughout his life, he was a devoted member of his church, Power and Faith Church of God in Hartford where he enjoyed leading the men’s group, “Life Builders” and had recently been named an Elder of the Church.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his beloved wife, Lorna, he leaves to mourn his passing, five children, Angela Lorraine Chambers of Manchester, Tanika Inez Simmons of Rosharon, TX, Clyde Thompson and his wife Deborah Johnson of Delray Beach, FL, Oneko Augustine of Hartford and Diwani Augustine of Manchester; 12 grandchildren, Christiana Jackson-Swope and her husband Drew of Nashville, TN, Jurnee Jackson of Powder Springs, GA, Lorenzo Tyson of Cleveland, TN, Lascelles Jackson of Atlanta, GA, Josiah Lloyd and Kaleigh Lloyd both of Covington, GA, Miya Diane Simmons and Christopher Jerome Simmons both of Rosharon, TX, and Azaria Augustine, Ava Augustine, Amani Augustine, and Aleque Augustine all of Hartford; three brothers, Dennis Shirley and his wife Violet of Portmore, Jamaica, Rudolph Shirley and his wife Princess of Bloomfield, and Clifton Pike of Bloomfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Dennis Jackson; two brothers, Belton Pike and Aston Jackson; and a sister, Maud Jackson-Taylor.</p><p><br></p><p>His family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 10-11 a.m., followed by a Homegoing Service at 11 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield.
