<p>Bonnie Rodgers, daughter of the late Marion Spurlin and Myrtle Pennington Spurlin, was born on December 26, 1943, in Morehouse, Missouri and departed this life on July 2, 2025, at her residence in Wappapello, Missouri, at the age of 81 years.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Rodgers formerly worked in shipping at Purolator and in quality control at Tyson in Dexter, Missouri, and she was a member of the Lake Wappapello United Methodist Church in Wappapello, Missouri. She enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing and working in her yard.</p><p><br></p><p>On October 4, 1974, in Dexter, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Dennis Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers preceded her in death on December 9, 2024.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by two sons, Dennis Rodgers II (Karen) of Dexter, Missouri, and Dean Rodgers of Festus, Missouri; by three daughters, Martha (Jay) Followell of Fruitland, Missouri, Donna (John) Wiley of Puxico, Missouri, and Sharon Chism of Wappapello, Missouri; by her brother, Pete Spurlin of Sikeston, Missouri; by her sister, Julie Grubbs of Dexter, Missouri; and by ten grandchildren, Shawn, Nikki, Ashley, Paige, Shawna, Cheyenne, Logan, Bethany, Scott and Connor and twenty great-grandchildren, Conner, Sylas, Kyler, Zeke, Evelyn, Samual, Amelia, Alex, Abby, Justin, Tristin, Emmitt, Ezra, Elliott, Elias, Alec, Amathyst, Bentley, Wyatt and Ivy.</p><p><br></p><p>Other than by her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, William Spurlin and James Spurlin; by her sister, Frankie Mae Haley; by her son-in-law, James Chism; and by her granddaughter, Shara Suggs and her great-great grandson, Ryker Cornelison.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 11:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Craig Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.</p><p><br></p><p>Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter is assisting with arrangements.</p><p><br></p>December 26, 1943 - July 2, 202512/26/194307/02/2025
