The Army Veteran peacefully passed on June 30, 2025, at the age of 86. Longtime resident of Mt. Carmel.

RJ was a Central High School graduate and served proudly in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. RJ worked many jobs, beginning his 17-year career as a machinist and draftsman at Cincinnati Milacron. He then worked at Senco Fastener as a draftsman. While at Senco, RJ bought and operated a Cincinnati Enquirer route as a second job. For many years he delivered papers in Clermont County, being one of the largest independent carriers for the Enquirer. He later became a partner at Handsco, a distributor of small appliances. At about 70 years old, RJ started his favorite job of all. He was a bartender and greeter at the Anderson Towne Center Kroger, a job he really enjoyed. He loved people and conversing with them about life stories was a favorite past-time of his.

He was also very active in his families lives. In his spare time, he ran his kids all over Clermont County for sporting events, school activities and hosting many family gatherings around his backyard pool. He played cards with the guys, had dinner with the “Fork & Knife” club, met up with the old Ramblin Rebels gang from high school and traveled around the world with his bride. He would take the family camping with all the cousins. His favorite pastime was spending time with his best friends and his later in life caretakers, his brother Charlie and sister in-law Tina(sis). As a hobby, RJ would sleep on the couch. To many he was known as “Horizontal-Ron”.

As a courtesy to mom (Dee), RJ will be entombed next to her, not on top. RJ will enter the gate of heaven with a joke, he will say hello to everyone and then as typical, head to the couch to do his favorite thing “sleep”. Rest in peace, Dad!

Visitation will be held July 8th, from 10:00am-11:00am., with a funeral service beginning at 11:00am.
