<p>Panfilo Michelangelo, 91, of East Haven passed away July 1, 2025 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Husband of the late Raffaela Tranquillo Michelangelo. Beloved father of Pasquale Michelangelo of East Haven, Joseph (Michelle) Michelangelo of Bridgeport and Maria (Richard) Brooks of Buffalo, NY. Caring grandfather of Sophia, Gabe and Gianna Michelangelo. Brother of the late Giovanna Gentile and Joseph Michelangelo. Panfilo was born in Campo di Fano, Province of L’Aquila, Italy on April 28, 1934 a son of the late Pasquale and Maria Guglielmi Michelangelo.</p><p>Panfilo emigrated to the United States in 1955. He loved nothing more than being with his family. Prior to his retirement, Panfilo worked first for Malleable Iron Fittings and later at Blakeslee Prestress. He was a master gardener. From sunrise to sunset, he could be found in his garden. He loved sharing all the fruits and vegetables with family and neighbors. After he retired, he and his wife enjoyed traveling all over the United States, as well as making numerous trips back to Italy to visit family. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.</p><p>His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80), East Haven Tuesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 10:00. Entombment will follow in All Saints Cemetery in North Haven.
