He met his forever sweetheart while she was standing on a ladder at the

workmen's store, and her forever long legs won him over. They were married on June 17th,

1967. They went on to have four daughters whom he loved very much. More than

anything Dad loved his Lord & Savior. He was a Godly Man and was not ashamed of it.

For my dad it was put God First, then his wife and then his children. Dad loved his

classic cars, and if you knew dad, he had every one of them in his lifetime. Dad was

always in his jeans and baseball cap, cowboy boots and a cold bottle of coca cola. He

would always walk uptown and talk to anyone. He was not a stranger to anyone. He

would give the very shirt off his back and would never let anyone go hungry or thirsty.

Dad had blue eyes like the bluest ocean water. Dad loved his snacks, there was never

a time he wasn’t snacking. He loved to garden and fish. He loved to ride his motorcycle

many years ago. His favorite pastime was watching Gunsmoke. Dad wasn’t only

known to his grandchildren as Papa. Many of the community kids called him Papa. To

know Dad was to love him. He was a Man's Man, A gentle soul, a man of very few

words. He was kind and Gentle. He was honest to the core. Most of all, he was a family

man and our protector. The day Dad lost Mom, he couldn’t go on without her. He fought

for 7 months and just wanted to be with his sweetheart. He needed her more. Each one

of us daughters had our own relationship with Dad, just as we did with Mom. Dad would

always say, my firstborn baby girl. When I was little (Wendy)I would ask him to go for a

walk and get French Fries. Dad counted on watching High Chaparral with Sherry; he

would make sure he called her every day at 1:00 pm. He was always “Daddy to Sherry.

Channon could make Dad laugh even when he didn’t want to laugh.

Her favorite pastime with Dad was Mom, Sherry, Channon, and Cousin Tammy were staying up late and

watching TV, laughing so hard that Dad would wake from sleeping to come and yell at

them. They would all run and hide, including Mom.

Torrie his first grandchild, was the Apple of his eye, he would say. No matter what Torrie

did, Papa was right there to get her out of trouble. Papa was my hero and the toughest

man I've ever known (Torrie) Papa would always say. “Be good, Hun, Papa loves you.

The best memory for me (Tyler) was the painted heart-shaped rock he gave to me for

my birthday.

Papa and I always celebrated our birthday together(Jersie). He would always try and go

to my soccer games, and if he could not make it. He would always ask me if I won,

Papa spoiled Chevelle and Camellia, anything they wanted he would give it to them. He

loved to buy them toys and clothes, but most of all McDonald's. He looked forward to

taking them to the park and just being outside with them. Camellia was his sensitive

clown, and Chevelle was his princess.

Papa always asked about me(Bryce) and always told me how proud he was of me. I

knew he loved me.

I know that Dad would have loved Bryce and Shelly’s soon-to-be new addition to the

family. We will make sure he will know that his Papa would have loved him.

To my Papa, who always told me “ I don’t know what I would do without you,” I'm not

sure what ill do without you now. The man who I chased around the yard for paint and

wood one summer day, you were getting so frustrated with me that day, and then I

surprised you with your “PAPA” sign that still hangs in your room to this day. You

weren’t only the family's papa, but you became all of our friends' and communities' papa.

The man who taught me to always look someone in the eye and have love and respect.

You have pulled me out of trees, trouble, and so much more. I'll always be your girl and

the twinkle in your eye. Like you always said, “be safe and I love you too, babe”.

My father was my Superman, my best friend, my storyteller. He was my first true love

and my last true love. My father never let me down. I will always see him in the

distance with his baseball cap and his cowboy boots. Just go right…

And he bowed his head to Jesus

And he stood for Uncle Sam

And he only loved one woman

(He) was always proud of what he had

He said his greatest contribution

Is the ones you leave behind

Raised on the ways and gentle kindness

Of a small-town Southern man

(Raised on the ways and gentle kindness)

(Of a small town Southern man)

“Alan Jackson”

Visiting hours will be Thursday, July 10th, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Fowler

Funeral Home at 340 West Ave, Brockport, NY 14420.

Food and drink after.
