<p><p>Frederick M. “Pat” Walor, WWII Veteran, 101</p><p>Frederick M. “Pat” Walor, 101, a longtime resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully at Blaire House in Tewksbury on Friday, June 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Eleanor (Mscisz) Walor, with whom he enjoyed 66 years of marriage before her passing in 2013. Pat was born in Peabody, MA on August 8, 1923, the tenth of eleven and last surviving child born to the late John and Honorata (Buras) Walor.</p><p><br></p><p>At the age of 19, Pat enlisted in the U.S. Army. He fought in World War II in the 9th Infantry, landing on Utah Beach, Normandy, days after D-Day, and received a Purple Heart for injuries he received in Belgium from German artillery on his 21st birthday. His time spent in the military earned him additional awards of valor, including the European and American Campaign medals, the Combat Infantry Badge, a Bronze Star, the World War II Victory Medal, and a Distinguished Unit Ribbon. He also wore the Infantryman, Sharpshooter Rifle, and Marksman Pistol Badges. He was an amazing representative of undoubtedly The Greatest Generation.</p><p><br></p><p>Pat was a member of the Polish-American Veterans of Lowell, Dom Polski, Dracut American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Lawrence Elks Lodge 65, Dracut Knights of Columbus, avid supporter of Dracut Centralville Sportsmen’s Club, and a faithful communicant of St. Francis Church. He truly enjoyed people, staying active, farming, Polka dancing, playing cribbage, watching sports of any kind, and always in service to others. He not only touched the lives of those he met but also left a mark on the hearts of all he encountered.</p><p><br></p><p>Pat is survived by his children Joseph Walor of Fredericksburg, VA, Patricia Diodati and her husband Michael of Lawrence, Sandra Walor and Edward Leczynski, Jr. of Lowell, and Mary Kazalski and her husband Joseph of Dracut; seven grandchildren, Dr. David, Lisa, and Sarah Walor, Michael Diodati and Sandra (Diodati) Slager, Fred Kazalski and Kasia (Leczynski) Hatfield; fourteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Sadly, he is predeceased by his wife, Eleanor; grandson Joel Walor; daughter-in-law Barbara Walor; sisters Julia O’Donnell, Helen Walor, Nellie Merrill; and brothers Walter, Joseph, Frank, Stanley, Michael, Bruno, and Louis Walor.</p><p><br></p><p>A special thank you to his aides, Mercy and Joseph, and everyone at Blaire House Rehab, especially the Physical and Occupational Therapy Departments.</p><p><br></p><p>Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 6, 2025, from 1 pm to 5 pm at DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., DRACUT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 115 Wheeler Rd, DRACUT. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, TEWKSBURY.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorial donations may be made in Pat’s memory to St. Francis Church, 115 Wheeler Rd, Dracut, MA 01826 or to Honor Flight New England, PO Box 16287, Hookset, NH 03106, (<a href="https://honorflightnewengland.org" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">honorflightnewengland.org</a>) which transports Veterans to their Memorials in Washington, DC at no cost to those who served.</p></p>
