William J. Devine, age, 75, of Felton, DE, passed away on June 24, 2025.

Bill was a simple man with a thrifty mindset, an entertaining sense of humor, and a loyal heart. He grew up in Gloucester, NJ, and at an early age he started hunting and fishing with his buddies. He often took off from school to enjoy his hobbies. While in high school, he met Hazel and they would go on to spend almost 54 years married, creating a beautiful family. Bill worked for many years for the Carpenters Union Local #393. After retiring, he moved to Delaware where he enjoyed spending time in the woods and having bonfires with his loved ones by his side. You would often see him cruising around on his golf cart, gathering twigs and branches for his bonfires. He was a longtime member of the Diamond State Beagle Club, and often found ways to volunteer. Bill adored watching the wildlife, and was always thought to be an animal expert by his granddaughter. He was an excellent hunter, and continued his hunting days with his brothers and longtime friend, Dave Atkinson. He acquired chickens and even became a pretty good chicken wrangler. Bill really enjoyed sharing his fresh eggs with family and friends. He loved spending time with those he loved and was always ready for a family gathering, or a day out to eat. One of his favorite things to do was go to Spences' Bazaar, always coming home with many trinkets to place in his den or around his land. Dumpster diving was also something he enjoyed. He could always turn someone else's "junk" into something useful and meaningful. It was only in the last few years that Bill became ill. He grew tired from all of the hospitalizations but fought a good fight and always DID IT HIS WAY! We will forever love and miss him. Love forever to a great husband, sibling, friend, uncle, father and Poppy.

Beloved husband of Hazel M. Devine (nee McCarty).
